Furry Friends counts on the support of our many donors and friends to help rescue and care for approximately 555+ abandoned felines every year.
Each donation makes a real difference in the quality of care we offer and positively impacts the lives of some of the most vulnerable animals in Barrie. The cost of looking after these cats and kittens is high. Food, litter, shelter and care by qualified veterinarians (vaccinations, treatments, spaying/neutering, emergency surgeries) can really add up. Furry Friends is operated completely by volunteers so you can be sure that 100% of your donation goes directly to helping animals in crisis.
It's easy to donate!
Make a one-time donation using our easy, online donation form! You can also dedicate your donation in memory of or in honour of someone special and send them a special eCard! A charitable tax receipt will be immediately sent to your inbox with our thanks.
We are a no-kill rescue. Most of our cats are adopted into loving homes, but some cannot be adopted…or at least not right away. Join the “Furry Friends for Life Team” and help our furry friends who need longer-term/specialty care.
- $15/month (50 cents/day): Feed & nourish by filling our pantry with nutritious food.
- $30 monthly ($1/day): Comfort & heal by providing essential medications like antibiotics and pain treatments.
- $60 monthly ($2/day): Give special care with lifesaving specialty food and supplements.
- $100 a month ($3.33/day): Respond to emergencies by making essential surgeries possible.
- Or give what you can: No matter the amount you give, your monthly gift will make a BIG impact on the lives of the cats who are in our care for a short time…or the rest of their lives.

- Donate by credit card. Contact us to set a time to collect your information so we can process your donation and receipt.
- E-transfer your donation to asktheboard@furryfriendsbarrie.com Please include your full name, mailing address and email address so we can process/issue your tax receipt.
- Drop off cash in donation boxes at local stores. We also gratefully accept Canadian Tire money.

- Canned paté fish flavored wet for adult cats & kittens
- Paper towels
- Liquid laundry soap
- Garbage bags (large black bags and smaller white kitchen bags)
- Blue or clear recycling bags
- Unscented clumping cat litter
- Toilet paper
- Unscented baby wipes to clean the cats too sick to groom themselves
- Cotton balls or pads

Donate a Vehicle through Donate a Car Canada
When you donate your vehicle through Donate A Car Canada, they will put your unwanted car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to great use by either reselling or recycling and in return Furry Friends will receive a greatly appreciated donation!
Donate A Car Canada handles every step of the donation process to make donating your vehicle as easy as possible. This includes free towing in most areas of Canada, but you can also drop off your vehicle yourself in order to maximize your donation towards Furry Friends. After you have donated your vehicle, you will receive a tax receipt as well!

Organize a third-party event
Third-party events are fundraisers that are coordinated and executed by you or your organization independent from Furry Friends. The fundraisers increase awareness of Furry Friends and help provide life-saving care to animals in need. Ideas could include:
- Hosting a garage sale
- Throwing a party at a local restaurant or bar
- Hosting an annual memorial event for a loved one
- Throwing a dinner party
- Raising funds at school
- Having an event at your office
- Organizing a golf outing or sports tournament
